Tiger Salamander

A tiger salamander is a salamander from the mole salamander family. It is the largest of the mole salamanders it is often kept as a pet because it is easy to care for, and its striking pattern. Tiger salamanders usually eat crickets in captivity but in the wild it will eat anything that can fit in its mouth. You should feed your salamander crickets and pinkie mice a pinkie mouse is a baby mouse frozen and then thawed out for your pet to eat only feed your pet a pinkie mouse as a treat pinkie mice are high in fat. Tiger salamanders can't have tank mates because of their size and appetite the only tank mates that they can have is each other, make sure if you get two they are the same size bigger ones will eat smaller ones you cannot have fish with tiger salamanders also you cannot have other amphibians because of toxins. Tiger salamanders are not aquatic or semiaquatic they are terrestrial, terrestrial means lives on land you should put substrate so your tiger salamander can burrow thats why they are part of the mole family. But for water just put a water dish so your tiger salamander can soak in the water you can use distilled water or tap water treated with aqua safe and also you should mist the soil and the cage. Your tiger salamander should have a ten gallon tank make sure you have a lid so your salamander can't escape. A water dish is important because a tiger salamander needs to soak in the water substrate is important because this salamander likes to burrow plants are not important but it makes the tank look nice.

Crayfish Care Sheet

Crayfish are very easy to care for, they do not require much care they are invasive species to america and it is illegal to transport these in the united states they are very common in america. They are found in states like California, Louisiana, and Florida I caught one in Penryn California at my great grandmas house.

FEEDING

Crayfish enjoy algae and fish in the wild they will eat tadpoles, fish, and algae goldfish are the main fish you can feed your crayfish but fish should not be fed to them alive, dead or almost dead are a better option since crayfish are slow slower prey is better algae is the best food. A stable diet of fish is not healthy for your crayfish.

HOUSING

Housing a crayfish is easy you need a five or ten gallon tank, gravel and maybe a filter. If you get a ten gallon tank put gravel in a slope make sure it is high enough so the crayfish can be completely covered but not to steep that the crayfish can't get up remember the water has to be as high or higher then the crayfish.

I hope you enjoyed this blog as much as I enjoyed making it Lizy signing out

Gravel at the bottom of the tank is good it makes the tank look good but it also makes the tank harder to clean out plants are also very important the frogs hide in the plants make sure you get plants if you get a fish Terra Cora pots can be purchased from a craft store for 50 cents turned sideways it is a good hideout for them. These frogs are fully aquatic but doesn't mean there the best swimmers sixteen inches high of water is good but one foot high is the best spring water is the best water for them or tap water with conditioner is good put Aqua Safe in the tap water or Reptisafe will work.
